10 Apr Your Camp Might Be Over… But the Memories Will Stick With You Forever!
There’s nothing quite like the experience of being at camp—days filled with adventure, nights around the fire, and friendships that form in the blink of an eye. While it’s always a little sad to head home, camp has a way of leaving its mark. Whether you’ve just wrapped up your stay at one of QCCC’s stunning locations or you’re reminiscing about a camp from years gone by, here are five things you’ll probably miss the most once you’re back in your normal routine:
1. The Non-Stop Adventure
Every day at camp brings something fresh and unforgettable—whether you’re scaling new heights on the high ropes course, an introduction to mountain bike riding, or fire-cooking like a Bush Master Chef. At QCCC Tamborine, boredom doesn’t stand a chance. With the mountain air in your lungs and your team by your side, it’s full-speed excitement from sunrise to lights out—and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
2. Laughing with Your Friends
Camp friendships are something special. Maybe it’s the shared adventures, the silly games, or those deep chats around the dinner table or on a bush walk in QCCC Mapleton’s Rainforest —but the bonds built at camp often last a lifetime. You’ll miss the constant laughter, inside jokes, and the sense of belonging that comes with your camp crew.
3. Being Unplugged (and Loving It!)
No pings. No scrolling. No pressure. Camp is one of the rare times where you can truly disconnect from screens and reconnect with what matters—nature, people, and yourself. And guess what? It feels amazing. You might be surprised how much you don’t miss your phone!
4. The Epic Camp Food
After a full day of activities, there’s nothing better than sitting down to a delicious camp meal. As part of the Eat Safe Brisbane program, QCCC Brisbane’s kitchen was rewarded with a Five Star Rating in Brisbane City Council’s Eat Safe Program in January 2022. Whether it’s a hearty buffet-style meal, fresh local produce, or your favourite dessert at dinner—camp food hits differently. It fuels the fun and keeps the energy high for whatever’s next. And let’s not forget the barista made coffee available on site.
5. That Feeling of Pure Freedom
No homework, no deadlines, no stress—just the rustle of the bush, the glow of the campfire, and the open sky above. At QCCC’s Survival Camp, run exclusively at Cobb and Co Campgrounds, you trade the noise of everyday life for the simplicity of nature. You’ll build shelters, cook your own meals, navigate new terrain, and learn what you’re capable of—without Wi-Fi, but with plenty of wonder. It’s a freedom that gets under your skin, and long after the bus rolls home, you’ll still carry it with you.
Camp might only last a few days or weeks, but the impact lasts a lifetime. Whether you’re missing the fun already or counting down to your next stay, one thing’s for sure—camp memories are some of the best memories you’ll ever make. Make sure you check out our YouTube channel to experience some of the fun and what you will miss when camp is finished.
See you at the next adventure!
