QCCC Tamborine (Tamborine Mountain):

Position: Administration & Guest Services Assistant – Full-time 

QCCC Tamborine is looking for an enthusiastic person with a passion for providing outstanding client service to our guests and administrative support in our office. QCCC Tamborine is a busy 300+ bed conference centre that hosts more than 150 groups (15,000 guests) each year. The site is used for school camps, church conferences, by community groups, and other special events year-round. This position will be a full-time position 38 hours per week, with the successful applicant employed under the Amusements, Events & Recreation Award 2020.
Essential Functions of the Position
▪ Maintain a professional and friendly reception for visitors and clients both at the front desk and over the phone;
▪ Manage booking enquiries received by phone or email, follow up enquiries with quotes and assist in maintaining client communication via the booking system;
▪ Manage client payments including issuing and following up invoices (Xero system);
▪ Carry out site visits for potential and existing clients;
▪ Assist with collation of client booking details including meal and room selections and activity programs;
▪ Checking in arriving groups including providing site briefings;
▪ This position may be required to assist in the on-site café or kitchen at times;
▪ General administrative support as required.

Desired Experience:
▪ Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative, office or guest services role.
▪ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite/Xero /Venue360, or the ability to quickly learn.
▪ Experience within the hospitality industry is preferred.
▪ Must currently possess or be eligible to apply for a Blue Card for working with children.
▪ Able to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and some public holidays.

QCCC Tamborine is looking for enthusiastic trainee with a passion for Christian Camping and providing outstanding client service to our guests and administrative support in our office. QCCC Tamborine is a busy 300+ bed conference centre which hosts more than 150 groups (15,000 guests) each year. The site is used for school camps, church conferences, by community groups and other special events year-round.

This position will be a fulltime traineeship (Certificate 3 in Business Administration) 38 hours per week, with the successful applicant employed under the Amusements, Events & Recreation Award 2020. Shared accommodation may be provided onsite if needed.

Essential Functions of the Position:
▪ Maintain a professional and friendly reception for visitors and clients both at front desk and over the phone;
▪ Pre-camp client liaison, including initial contact planning and client contact information updates.
▪ Carry out site visits for potential and existing clients;
▪ Assist with collation of client booking details including meal and room selections and activity programs;
▪ Checking in arriving groups including providing site briefings;
▪ This position may be required to assist in the on-site café or kitchen/housekeeping departments at times;
▪ General administrative support as required.

Desired Experience:
▪ Previous experience in hospitality is not required, as training will be provided.
▪ Must currently possess or be eligible to apply for a Blue Card for working with children.
▪ Able to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and some public holidays.
▪ Hold a current driver’s licence.

Position: Apprentice Chef 

Located only 30kms from the Gold Coast and 70kms from Brisbane, QCCC Tamborine has one of the best views available in Queensland with a sweeping 360 degree vista of Brisbane, Moreton Bay and the Scenic Rim Hinterland. With access to 50 acres of land, QCCC Tamborine offers modern accommodation, world-class catering and an extremely comfortable, versatile venue just 2km from the charming tourist village at North Tamborine. Further afield there’s easy access to the best of the Gold Coast’s attractions, including Theme Parks, beaches and recreation activities in breathtaking National Parks.

The successful applicant will participate in many of the key moments and events of camp life whilst achieving their chef qualifications, which takes the form of a chef ’s apprenticeship (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery SIT30816), mostly comprising on-the-job training in a busy kitchen and complemented by time with training specialists.

The purpose of the position is to prepare and maintain excellent standards of food preparation and presentation for a range of meal types and cuisines.

The position’s main tasks include:

  • Preparing a range of meals for guests of the venue, including, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks to a high standard.
  • Ensure menus, food standards, procedures and processes are followed.
  • Supervise and manage kitchen operations as required.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen area is in line with current health regulation standards.
  • Plan for and order appropriate food/ingredients/equipment/utensils required for producing healthy, nutritious and safe meals.

No experience is required, but applicants must be passionate about cooking, interested in serving large groups and events, and participate in many of the key moments and events of camp life whilst achieving their chef qualifications.

Shared onsite accommodation can be provided in gender-specific formats, including own bedroom and access to meals onsite when available. The successful applicant will do more than just live onsite. They will be joining a group of people committed to create life-changing opportunities through excellence in hospitality and service.

QCCC Mapleton (Sunshine Coast Hinterland):

Position: Outdoor Recreation/Education Instructors

QCCC is excited to announced we are offering casual positions within both our Sunshine Coast Mapleton campus and Expeditions department.

We are seeking motivated and passionate team members who have a love for the great outdoors and excellent service delivery to join our dynamic, fun, committed and skilled team.

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic person to be involved in a Christian workplace providing outdoor education and recreation programs to school and community groups. The casual positions involve supervising and facilitating participants, from grade 3 to grade 12. Activities such as team building, canoeing, archery, raft building, climbing, abseiling, high ropes and bushwalking are just a few of our activities offered at the Mapleton campus. To add to this diverse role, instructors with QCCC also have opportunities to lead survival and bushwalking, sea-kayaking and climbing/abseiling journey-based experiences for school groups operated out of Noosa.

Applicants need to be self-motivated team players, willing to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays.  Experience in facilitation, teaching, outdoor education or recreation is essential.

Applicants must have the following qualifications or equivalent experience:

  • Minimum qualifications, or equivalent experience, of Certificate III or IV in Outdoor Recreation (covering high ropes, flat-water canoeing and vertical rescue)
  • Current First Aid and CPR.
  • Current Drivers licence
  • Ability to obtain Commission for Children & Young People – Suitability ‘Blue Card’
  • Climbing & Abseiling, Archery, Bronze medallion/lifeguard, Remote/Wilderness 1st aid (all highly desirable)
  • Bushwalking/Sea Kayaking/Mt Biking Instructor (desirable)

Position: Housekeeping Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Part-time Housekeeping Coordinator (Cleaning) to join our team here at QCCC Mapleton. You will assist in providing clean facilities for the enjoyment of our guests and take responsibility for the cleanliness of the site through leading our cleaning team.

  • Able to roster, coordinate, and manage staff while performing housekeeping duties.
