Training the next generation of outdoor education leaders
Welcome to our new interns! This week, we welcome a new group of interns commencing at QCCC Mapleton. In 2022, this will be our sixth intake for our internship program. As Queensland’s leading outdoor education and camping provider, this program has seen many interns over the years continue on with QCCC beyond completing their internship. Our internship program ignites and develops one’s passion for outdoor education, leadership, and camping. As part of the program, our Mapleton based Interns complete a Certificate III in Outdoor Leadership as well as gain crucial industry training and experience from industry experts. Not only do our interns receive training in outdoor recreation, but also learn about Aboriginal culture, and are immersed in an atmosphere of Christian discipleship. How good is it to be able to complete a nationally recognised qualification in the beautiful outdoors! Our interns are truly the next generation of outdoor education leaders.
The Mapleton interns will be joined shortly by this year’s intake of interns at QCCC Tamborine who undertake a similar program for 2022.
