QCCC SURVIVAL PROGRAMS

QCCC has established a highly sought after Survival & Bush Camp Experience, now offered at the Cobb and Co (9-Mile Creek) Campgrounds.  Just minutes off the Bruce Highway between the Sunshine Coast and Gympie, this modern and comfortable camp venue gives us more than 100 acres of natural playground to continue our delivery of survival-style programs.  The property enjoys multiple private and scenic camping zones and a range of survival-themed activities, backed up by basic infrastructure for some creature comforts if the weather gets tough.  Comfortable glamping tents are also available for hire for teachers and accompanying adults.  Our Survival Program include options such as navigation, camp skills, fire-cooking, search and rescue, raft-building, team challenges, bush food and shelter building, or use the full scale of the property for safe, self-contained solo programs.

Cobb and Co Campgrounds provides a safe outdoor environment that invites campers to disconnect from everyday distractions and reconnect with nature, their peers, and themselves. Cobb and Co creates the ideal setting for challenge-based learning. Its layout supports both individual reflection and group collaboration, making it an excellent platform for personal growth, community building, and the development of foundational skills in resilience, leadership, and independence

SURVIVAL CAMP OUTCOMES

The QCCC Survival program develops practical independence, resilience, and strong community connection by placing students in environments that require meaningful responsibility and cooperation. Through tasks such as fire management, meal preparation, tent setup, and maintaining group morale, students build adaptability, perseverance, and confidence while learning that resilience is strengthened—not diminished—by seeking and offering support. Living and working in close expedition teams enables them to develop empathy, trust, and a deep appreciation for the strengths of others, showing that shared responsibility and collaboration are essential for a thriving community. Historical elements of the Cobb & Co site further enrich this experience, offering opportunities to explore themes of mateship and broader Australian values. Across the program, challenges are deliberately designed to be stretching yet safe, encouraging students to reframe difficulty as a valuable catalyst for personal growth. Guided reflection helps them recognise their emerging strengths, clarify their values, and understand that adversity can be approached with optimism and a belief in their ability to grow.

QCCC Survival programs are proudly hosted at Cobb and Co Nine Mile Campground.
