CASUAL OUTDOOR RECREATION INSTRUCTORS:

QCCC is excited to announced we are offering casual positions within both our Sunshine Coast Mapleton Campus and Expeditions department based out of Noosa.  We are seeking motivated and passionate team members who have a love for the great outdoors and excellent service delivery to join our dynamic, fun, committed and skilled team.

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic person to be involved in a Christian workplace providing outdoor education and recreation programs to school and community groups. The casual positions involve supervising and facilitating participants, from grade 3 to grade 12. Activities such as team building, canoeing, archery, raft building, climbing, abseiling, high ropes and bushwalking are just a few of our activities offered at the Mapleton campus. To add to this diverse role, instructors with QCCC also have opportunities to lead survival and bushwalking, sea-kayaking, climbing/abseiling or Mountain biking journey-based experiences for school groups operated out of Noosa.

Applicants need to be honest and self-motivated team players, willing to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays.  Experience in facilitation, teaching, outdoor education or recreation is essential.

Applicants must have the following qualifications or equivalent experience:

  • Minimum qualifications, or equivalent experience, of Certificate III or IV in Outdoor Recreation (covering high ropes, expedition leader, flat-water canoeing and vertical rescue)
  • Current First Aid and CPR.
  • Current Drivers licence
  • Ability to obtain Commission for Children & Young People – Suitability ‘Blue Card’
  • Climbing & abseiling, Bronze medallion/lifeguard, Remote/Wilderness 1st aid (all highly desirable)
  • Bushwalking/Sea Kayaking/Mt Biking Instructor (desirable)

Maintenance Supervisor – QCCC Brookfield:

School Camps Brisbane, School Camps BrisbaneQCCC Brookfield is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the building and ground.  QCCC Brookfield is a busy, 140 bed Conference and Camping Centre catering to school groups through the week and a broad variety of weekend groups, operating most weekends.  The position will be responsible to maintain buildings, facilities and grounds of the centre in a safe presentable condition and to act as the Manager on Duty if required by the Centre Management.  This role will play an important part in supporting other team members to work efficiently and to guarantee safety standards are maintained.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a minimum of 5 years building and grounds maintenance with a demonstrated understanding of maintenance principles. The role includes a generous (above Award) remuneration package as well as the possibility of onsite accommodation for the right applicant in leafy Brookfield, one Brisbane’s most sought-after suburbs, close to outstanding schools and services.

Maintenance Leading Hand (Carpentry) – QCCC Mapleton:

School and Education Camps in Queensland at the Gold Coast

QCCC Mapleton is looking for a Maintenance Leading Hand (Carpentry) to work as part of a team responsible for building projects and infrastructure maintenance.  QCCC Mapleton is one of Queensland’s busiest Outdoor Education Centres, with 300 beds accommodating more than 30,000 guests on an annual basis.  The venue caters to school groups through the week and a broad variety of weekend groups, operating most weekends.  The position will be responsible to work as part of a team to lead others in building projects, maintaining buildings and facilities in a safe presentable condition. The successful applicant will use a variety of problem solving skills and a comprehensive working knowledge of the residential and commercial construction industry to assist with operational logistics. They will also be a person who can share building and life experience with those they work with. This role will play an important part in training and supporting other team members to work efficiently and to guarantee safety standards are maintained. This position has an integral on call component for site breakdowns and attending to guest’s needs during their stay. It also has a weekend on call component that is rostered.

To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship building experience and a comprehensive understanding of construction and building maintenance. The role includes a generous (above Award) remuneration package as well as onsite accommodation at QCCC Mapleton, a spectacular 55-acre property in the mountains and rainforest of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

Catering Manager QCCC Brookfield:

QCCC Brookfield is looking for a Catering Manager to lead the hospitality and catering aspects of the venue.  QCCC Brookfield is a busy, 140 bed Conference and Camping Centre catering to school groups through the week and a broad variety of weekend groups, operating most weekends.  The position will be responsible to manage and supervise a busy kitchen preparing more than 50,000 meals annually within relevant industry and workplace health and safety guidelines (the kitchen currently has a five-star rating in the Eat Safe Rating system of Brisbane City Council).

To be successful in this role, you’ll need management skills and extensive experience in all aspects of catering, hospitality and Food Safety.  The role will involve hands-on food preparation as well as responsibility to set work schedules, order stock, oversee food prep and make sure we comply with health and safety restaurant regulations.  You will ensure efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.

Guest Services Administrator & Groups Coordinator:

QCCC TAMBORINE is looking for a team member to join us in January 2021.

This role is integral to the overall success of the organisation, the person often being the first point of contact for customers and patrons, QCCC being represented by this position.

QCCC Tamborine is a busy 300+ bed conference centre which hosts more than 150 groups (15,000 guests) each year.  The site is used for school camps, church conferences, by community groups and other special events year-round. The excellent guest service QCCC Tamborine provides stems from the strong relationships built with our group leaders and guests with many longstanding clients. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to strengthen these connections by way of ensuring the clients booked requirements are met, to help them accomplish a successful event. In carrying out functions and relating to guests and colleagues, QCCC staff are expected to endorse, model and promote Christian values and comply with relevant industry and workplace health and safety guidelines and regulations.

Furthermore, the applicant must –

  • Have excellent skills in administration, communication and organisational
  • Have a Minimum Diploma level qualification in hospitality, business administration, event planning, marketing, outdoor education, or a related field
  • Have the ability to work well within a team environment
  • Though not mandatory, 2 years experience in a similar role would be preferable.
  • Currently possess or must have applied for, and received, a Blue Card for Working with Children prior to commencement
