ABOUT US

HISTORY

For more than 15 years, Sean and Katherine O’Hanlon and their family lovingly built Cobb and Co Nine Mile Camping Grounds from the ground up. What began as a simple camping idea grew into a much-loved family camping and getaway destination. From the hand-built luxury tents and pirate ship playground to the standout multi-hole mini golf course, their personal touch is evident throughout the grounds. Cobb and Co Nine Mile Camping Grounds is intentionally calm and family-focused. Wide open spaces, unpowered camping and a peaceful bush setting encourage connection rather than distraction. Rowdy or party-style camping has never been part of the culture here. Instead, families come for creek swims, campfires, shared meals and watching kids explore the outdoors safely.

LOCATION

Located 15 kilometres south of Gympie and an easy drive north of Brisbane along the Bruce Highway, Cobb and Co Nine Mile Camping Grounds is a popular choice for families looking to escape the city without travelling too far. It’s camping as it should be — relaxed, welcoming and centred on shared experiences. Set on 50 lush acres beside the Six Mile Creek, the campground offers space to slow down and breathe. Cobb and Co Nine Mile Camping Grounds is a place people return to — not for noise or nightlife, but for memories made together. Check out our new brochure for Church Family Camps at Cobb and Co!

Cobb & Co Nine Mile Camping Grounds
Home to the QCCC Survival Program

Cobb and Co Nine Mile Camping Grounds provides the ideal natural setting for QCCC’s Survival Camp programs for schools. Surrounded by bushland, creeks and wide-open spaces, the property becomes a living classroom where students step outside their comfort zones and learn practical outdoor skills while working together as a team.

Multiple private camping zones allow each group to operate within its own immersive bush environment, while basic infrastructure provides a safety net if weather conditions change. Comfortable glamping tents are also available for teachers and accompanying adults.

Survival Camp activities can include navigation, campcraft and fire-cooking, search and rescue scenarios, raft-building, bush food discovery, shelter construction, and team challenges. The scale of the property also allows for carefully supervised solo experiences where students spend reflective time in nature – often one of the most memorable elements of the camp.

These programs are designed to build resilience, cooperation and confidence in students through real challenge and shared experience.  If your school is exploring a survival-style camp, our team would welcome the opportunity to discuss how a program at Cobb and Co could work for your students.
