ABOUT THE CAMP | What is Camp CONNECT?

 

Camp CONNECT is a fully funded residential camp experience built for up to 40 children from across the Gold Coast region. Run by QCCC Tamborine Mountain in partnership with CrossLife Baptist Church, it exists to give kids who might not otherwise get the chance a safe space to grow, play, and build lasting community.

 

 

A Sneak Peek at the 3-Day Experience

  • Day 1: Arrive & Adventure – Settle in, jump into icebreaker games, outdoor activities, and share a massive group dinner.
  • Day 2: The Big Day – A jam-packed day featuring ropes courses, team challenges, bush cooking, and a night campfire.
  • Day 3: Celebrate & Go Home – Final celebrations and farewells, wrapping up with a Post-Camp Family BBQ where families are invited to celebrate with us.

Who is it For?

Entry to Camp CONNECT is by referral only to ensure places go to the children who will benefit the most. We welcome referrals from school chaplains, teachers, welfare staff, social workers, health professionals, and church communities.

 

A Good Fit For Camp Includes:

  • Kids aged 8–12 who would thrive with a fresh experience and time away.
  • Children who could use a meaningful confidence boost or help making new friendships.
  • Families who would warmly welcome connection with a wider, supportive community.

How the Referral Process Works

  1. Get in Touch: Contact our team, for a quick, no-obligation chat to see if the camp is a good fit.
  2. Brief Conversation: We’ll discuss the child’s needs to make sure everything is ready for an incredible experience.
  3. Family Registration: Once approved, we will send the family a direct link to complete this online registration form.
  4. Place Confirmed: Registration is finalised and a full information pack is sent out!

FOR FAMILIES | Information for Parents & Carers

If your child has been referred to Camp CONNECT, we want to reassure you that they will be cared for in a safe, fun, and highly supportive environment.

  • The Cost: The full program cost is generously covered by our partners. The only cost to your family is a $20 booking fee.
  • The Leaders: Our volunteer team is trained, fully supervised, and all leaders aged 18 or over hold a current Blue Card.
  • Beyond Camp: We don’t want the connection to end when camp finishes! Families are invited to a relaxed Post-Camp BBQ. You can also connect with our Family Liaison Team for ongoing support or join our Kids Adventure Club launching in late 2026.

Our volunteer leader team is drawn from QCCC’s Campfire Internship, CampLife Gap Year programs, CrossLife, and Christian communities across SE Queensland. No prior experience is required—we provide full training!

  • Grow as a Leader: Receive deliberate pre-camp training, active mentoring, and real responsibility.
  • Be a Consistent Voice: For many of these kids, a caring young leader is the exact positive adult role model they need.
